History
The Orangeburg County Fine Arts Center was established in 1984 as a non-profit 501c(3) organization, and is located in the Edisto Memorial Gardens in Downtown Orangeburg. The Center is housed in the Old River Pavilion that was erected in the 1920s, and had served primarily as a bathhouse for swimmers in the Edisto River.
After renovations in the late 1970s the facility today boasts a spacious lobby, gift area, classrooms, the Lusty Art Gallery and small theatre space. The newest addition in 1997 was the lovely Terrace Garden that overlooks the Edisto River from the east side of the building.
